Promote Encourage Connect

Caller ID

Social networks like Facebook and Twitter are quickly changing the way people stay connected to other people. The ability to write something once and have it read by literally hundreds or even thousands of people (by those of you who are extremely friendly) is amazing. Social Media is growing and exponentially expanding the potential contact we can have with other people all over the planet. While the social networks are technologically advancing connectivity and communication, my personal technological advance of choice is…caller ID.

You know, the name and number of whomever is on the other end of the call pops up on your cell or home phone, so that you can decide if you actually WANT to talk to them or not. Don’t sit there all smug and innocent! You know the drill: your phone rings, you look at the screen, then decide if you want to talk to someone or not. Sometimes we say things like, “I don’t want to talk to them right now. I will call them back later.”

Whether or not we engage with people is a choice. We have to choose to engage or not.
All In living is about that choice. All In living is about choosing to pick up the phone, take the call and engage in the conversation.

Let us consider one another to provoke one another unto love and good works. Hebrews 10:24

I was recently reading a book entitled Sparkling Gems from the Greek by Rick Renner. Renner took this verse and broke it down bite by bite, so that I could actually digest it. It went like this:

The word “consider” means to thoroughly think through, mulling something over, or to carefully contemplate something, examining or fully studying a subject.

The word “provoke” is a compound word derived from two words. The first root word means to come alongside, being close. The second part of the word means the act of sharpening something (like a knife) indicating a very sharp situation. When you put the two together, they combine the thought

Now, let’s put it all together in a paraphrase:

“And constantly be observing one another, seriously contemplating, studying, and examining each other, until you know how to incite, poke and sharply prod each other to love and good works.”

How about that for a definition of The All In Life?
